Drugging the “Undruggable”: New Review on RNA Fragment Screening Published in Molecules

Congratulations to the lab on our latest publication! Our new review article, “NMR-Based Fragment Screening for RNA-Targeted Drug Discovery,” has been published in Molecules as part of the Special Issue “Recent Advances in Fragment-Based Drug Discovery”. The work provides a comprehensive methodological pipeline for targeting structured RNAs, traditionally considered “undruggable”, using both ligand- and RNA-observed NMR spectroscopy. By evaluating successful case studies and emerging strategies, such as 19F-based screening and integrative structural modeling, we highlight how NMR remains the gold standard for identifying and optimizing high-quality binders for challenging RNA targets. This work underscores our commitment to expanding the landscape of RNA-directed therapeutics.
