New Funding: Investigating the Structural Mechanics of Myotonic Dystrophy

We are excited to announce that Dr. Yaqiang Wang has been honored with a three-year Career Development Award from the American Heart Association (AHA). This prestigious award supports our lab’s research into the structural mechanics of Myotonic Dystrophy (DM1). Our team will utilize high-resolution NMR and integrative biophysics to define how toxic CUG-repeat RNA sequester the splicing regulator MBNL1, uncovering the molecular triggers of cardiac dysfunction. We are grateful to the AHA for their support and look forward to advancing these studies at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
